I love reading book tags, they often give me book recommendations and its fun to see the differing book preferences. I found this Bookstagram Newbie Tag HERE a few months back and thought it would be fun for my friend Mars, and me to do it. Keep reading this book tag to see how two book reading besties feel about reading and how our tastes are so vastly different!

/1/ Why do you love to read?
Mars- Itโs like being transported to another universe. I enjoy the journey each book takes me on.
Shanay- I have to agree I love that reading lets you escape to a different place and time. I become invested in all the characters like they are personal friends!
/2/Do you have a favorite place to read?
Mars- I often use audible, so with that being said, I enjoy listening to books on long car rides.
Shanay- Like Mars, I listen in the car a lot. But I also love reading physical books, I read in bed when I wake up and before I go to sleep!
/3/What book or series got you into reading?
Mars- “Dark Places” by Gillian Flynn was the first book that hooked on reading.
Shanay- As a kid, I loved reading and the “Ramona Series” by Beverly Cleary was what got me hooked. As an adult, I rediscovered reading and fell in love with it again after reading “The Proposal” by Jasmine Guillory.
/4/What kind of books do you like to read?
Mars- Thriller, murder mystery and psychological books are my absolute favorite.
Shanay- Romance and Biographies!
/5/Do you prefer paperback or hardcover? Why?
Mars- Yikes, is audible acceptableโฆ? If not, hardcover for sure.
Shanay- As much as I like a hardback, I think I prefer paperback! A paperback makes me think of curling up in front of a cozy fire with a good book and wine!

/6/ Do you read more than one book at a time?
Mars- I donโt typically read more than one book at a time, but if I do, it must be two completely different genres.
Shanay- Yes, I didnโt always but in the past few years I have been known to be reading 2- 3 books at a time!
/7/ What book or book series are you most excited to read this year?
Mars-There are a few books by Gillian Flynn and Colleen Hoover that I would like to read.
Shanay- Jess Mastorakos San Diego Marines Series, I just discovered her and love that I am supporting a military spouse by purchasing her books! Check out her website here!
/8/ Do you reread books? Why or why not?
Mars- I havenโt reread anything just yet, but I would definitely reread the “Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides. It was so good.
Shanay- I donโt think I have ever reread any books either, but I would reread “The Proposal” by Jasmine Guillory or “Becoming” by Michelle Obama
/9/ Do you have a monthly book budget?
Mars- My monthly audible book credit. (click here to try audible)
Shanay- Know but my husband should probably enforce one!
