3 Books I recommend this year

This year I have done a lot of reading, although I will admit not as much as I had hoped. My goal for the year is 30 books and Iโ€™m at 26! So I know I will reach my goal. But honestly with being pregnant and moving I had quite a slump! With that being said I have read some great books! Here are my top books of 2022 so far!

-First Love, Take Two

If you read my April TBR and Reviews then you already know I absolutely loved this book! This book had me hooked immediately with the wittiness of the main character, Preeti. She was hilarious and relatable. Struggling with Anxiety and stereotypes within her community and life I found this book to hit home with me. The Author, Sajni Patel, did a great job with bringing up these common issues and it flowed well within the book. I felt like I proud friend as I was reading and was cheering for Preeti to stand her ground. This is a book that I could see myself reading again, and I donโ€™t do that often!

-One Italian Summer

I went into this book blind, and I am glad I did. One Italian Summer follows Katy as she takes on life after the passing of her mother. Having a close relationship with my own mother this was a bit hard to read, which is why I am glad I didnโ€™t know what this was about before hand. Katy travels to Italy on a trip she was supposed to take with her mother and quickly discovers a lot about herself as well as her mothers past. This was a great read and if you have read anything else by Rebecca Serle you can probably guess how this book will go.

-By the Book

Of course I have to include this one. Jasmine Guillory did not disappoint. As my favorite author, I was super excited when I picked up this one. This is a modern-day spin on beauty and the beast with black main characters. Isabelle is working in publishing but not doing what she ultimately wants to do, she isnโ€™t happy at her current job and is looking for a way to move out of her parents house.ย

When an opportunity falls into her lap to work with the hot headed and uncooperative Beau, who is supposed to be writing his memoir for the publishing company Izzy works for, she jumps at it! And the rest is historyโ€ฆ spending days trying to break through his hard exterior, Izzy is determined to show her boss she can do more. Little did she know, she may be getting more than just some changes at work! I loved this twist on Beauty and the Beast and as always Jasmine Guillory kept me interested the whole way through the book, longing for more!
