Feb TBR

San Diego Marines Book Series by Jess Mastorakos-

I started by reading Back to you by Jess Mastorakos and got hooked. This book is part of her San Diego Series. Jess writes romance books based around the Military, specifically the Marines. Even though I have no affiliation with the Marine Corps, I love the Military connection I get when reading them. I only had this one book on my TBR but ended up reading three from the series. The way Jess writes keeps me interested and intrigued, every time I finished one I would be ready to jump to the next immediately. I still have three more to read in this series and can’t wait. Although these books are in a series they can easily be read as stand-alone books! She provides enough back story in each book that you don’t feel like you have missed anything if you haven’t read the previous ones.
The series follows a core group of Marines and their girlfriends or wives. So far each book is based on one relationship at a time and their ups and downs as a couple. Away With You was one that really had me in my feels! I won’t give it away but I love how it progressed! And Believing In You was a somewhat familiar situation. Although not exactly like my story Melvin and I did spend the majority of our first year in a relationship separated by a Deployment, like the characters in the book. Unlike Jake and Ivy, we did not have to keep our relationship a secret!
Each time I start one of the books in The San Diego Series it only takes me a few days to finish. And each time I finish I am usually up reading late because I can’t put it down! I look forward to reading and finishing this series! And you should definitely check these books out!

Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand-

I am still listening to this book but it is really good! You probably know how much I love Elin Hilderbrand’s books and so far I am loving this one! This book is about two childhood best friends who had drifted apart but were suddenly brought back together. It is set in the 2000s but flashes back to their life as teens and young adulthood. As adults, they are suffering two VERY different losses but it is bringing them close together.

Elin has a way of making you feel like you are in the novel and witnessing everything firsthand! I will be sure to post an update once I finish this one!
