1. How many books are too many books in a book series?
It definitely depends. I have read some series where I thought more was needed and somewhere less was needed. An example for me is Elin Hilderbrand’s “The Winter Series” which is 4 books. It was fantastic, I loved the characters, the setting, and the plots of each book. I could have read 5 more books in this series. I stalled at finishing the last book in the series and teared up when I finished it! But in general, I think trilogies are a safe bet!
2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?
Dislike them! I like a good conclusion! If it is a book in a series I am more tolerant of them because I know I will get a resolution eventually. But if it just ends with no other books coming out I will likely give the book a lower rating because I need to know what happens! I mentioned this in my post A best friends book club about the book “Sadie”, great read, but was upset at how it ended.
3. Hardback or paperback?
I love hardcover books, harder to be ruined. But having said that I do love holding paperback books, there is something cozy about them.
Favorites and Least Favorites
4. Favorite book?
Ohhhhh, yea I have too many but sure, here are my top five in no particular order:
-“The Proposal” by Jasmine Guillory
-“Keeping The Moon” by Sarah Dessen
-“Seaside Sweets” by Melissa Chambers
-“Winter Street” by Elin Hilderbrand
I am realizing that I like reading series!
As a kid, the first book I fell in love with was Number the Stars by Lois Lowry.
5. Least favorite book?
Memorial by Bryan Washington. I couldn’t finish it, I really tried and I really wanted to like it, but I couldn’t get into it. And also The Vanishing Half, I talked about this book in my Best Friends book club blog post.
6. Love triangles, yes or no?
Eh. Not a big fan but sometimes they can work. I think it depends on the Author and how it is written.
7. The most recent book you just couldn’t finish?
See number 5
Currently…
8. A book you’re currently reading?
I’m currently reading “Trouble in Paradise” by Elin Hilderbrand, the third book in the Paradise series.
9. Last book you recommended to someone?
All the Jasmine Guillory books, I just gave my mum “Party of Two” to borrow and read.
10. Oldest book you’ve read? (publication date)
Honestly, not sure. Probably a book I read in high school or college. Like “Animal Farm” by George Orwell from 1945… I did not like it so or many of the books I was forced to read in high school!
11. Newest book you’ve read? (publication date)
Listened to on Audible would be “Sweet Talk” by Cara Bastone
Read would be “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig
About to start “While We Were Dating” by Jasmine Guillory
12. Favorite author?
I love Romance and series so, Jasmine Guillory, followed closely by Elin Hilderbrand. I also really enjoyed Sarah Dessen books when I was in high school and college, I’m thinking about re-reading a couple of them.
How I really feel about books…
13. Buying books or borrowing books?
Both! I love going to a local bookstore and buying books, I like supporting small businesses and sometimes you find good books by local authors. However, I enjoy going to the library and getting books because buying books can be expensive. Moose and I go to the Library 2-3 times a month to get new books for him since he also loves books.
14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?
“The Vanishing Half”, I honestly do not understand the hype and was sad about not liking it.
15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?
BOOKMARKS!! I have a bunch of them floating around, I do not like to dog-ear books at all!
16. A book you can always reread?
I don’t re-read often but “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse” by Charlie Mackesy, is a good one!
17. Can you read while hearing music?
Yes, but it has to be soft jazz or classical music, I can’t concentrate on the book when the music has words because then I want to sing along.
18. One POV or multiple POVs?
I have never thought about this before and I can not decide, I like both!
19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?
Definitely, in multiple days, I don’t have enough time in the day to take care of Moose and read a whole book! Before having Moose I could snuggle up for the day and get lost in the world of a good book!
20. Who do you tag in this fun book tag?
You!!!
