How We Spent Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day

Valentines Day Recap

Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? We do but I wouldn’t say we go “all-out”. Each year is honestly very different! I thought it would be fun to share a Valentine’s Day recap and how we enjoyed our day!

Melvin had class so we didn’t celebrate until later in the day. We didn’t have any plans but it turned out to be a great day!

Valentine’s Day Gifts

When Moose woke up from his nap we did all of our gifts. I had made Moose a love basket. Since he is still so young I included mostly things he needed, he gets excited about everything which makes us smile and laugh! His basket had books, a new water bottle, undies, and his favorite snacks. He was especially excited about his new Minnie and Mickey Mouse book!

Gifts Cont.

I had given Melvin most of his gifts already because they were things he needed. I got him a new face mask. He has to wear a mask all day in class so he likes the more expensive ones that don’t suck into your mouth when you breathe. I found an Under Armour one on Amazon, thinking it was the same one he lost, the one he lost was Oakley. (You can find this mask here) His review: “I like this one better because it doesn’t grip to my face when I breathe in and out. It is cheaper than the Oakley one. I also like that you don’t have to buy filters for it, this was an additional expense with the Oakley Mask.”

I also got both of us new water bottles from Brumate. We wanted ones that were easy to clean and also spill-proof! I loved mine but Melvin decided he wanted a different one, I thought he would which is why I gave it to him early hahaha. The return process for the cup was so so easy. We both love these cups. And with a toddler, it really is nice that it’s spill-proof!

I wanted him to have something to open on Valentine’s Day so I did get him some candy and a baby Yoda t-shirt to match with Moose! (You can find some other gift ideas here)

He got me some tea, candy, and a gift card to Starbucks. I think he knows me pretty well because these were all some of my favorites! I am pretty easy to please I feel like hahaha!

Valentine’s Day Evening

After we spent time opening our gifts we decided to go on a bike ride. I wanted to make spaghetti for dinner and we needed a few things. We rode bikes around our neighborhood and then to the store to pick up our missing ingredients. It was very nice. My parents also stopped by to drop off some candy and cookies for us that my mum had made, so so yummy!

I quickly whipped up our dinner, which was pretty delicious! We all really enjoyed it! It was our first time letting Moose dive in and take charge while eating spaghetti and that went about as well as you would expect with a 2 year old.🤣🤣

I forgot to take pictures of our evening but here is what we did.

Once we all showered and cleaned up our messy toddler. We made popcorn and built a fort with our Nugget Comforts. Melvin and I built a fort last year too but it was before we had the Nuggets. This time was a lot more comfortable that’s for sure! We snuggled in our fort and watched a kid’s show with Moose while enjoying our popcorn. It was a great way to end our day and I wouldn’t have wanted to spend it any other way! I love that we can include Moose in our fun activities!

Valentine’s Day for Mom & Dad

Melvin and I did get a chance for some one-on-one time later in the week. My parents came to play and hang out with Moose so Melvin and I could have a date. We went for sushi and to the Movies. We’ve been enjoying going to see movies earlier in the day because it is cheaper and there is usually no crowd! We saw “Dog” with Channing Tatum. We really enjoyed this afternoon together and the movie. I am so grateful that my parents can just hop over for a few hours and will definitely be missing this soon!

How did you spend your Valentine’s Day? Do you like to go BIG or keep it simple?
