The Final Countdown- Moving
The final countdown has begun and boy was this weekend full of excitement. Moving is going to be a fun adventure, but where will I end up?
Friday was my last day of work. It was a bitter sweet day, filled with lots of laughter and tears. Cleaning up and walking out of my classroom, down the 1st grade hall for the last time filled me with emotions. I have spent the past three years working and making memories with these awesome ladies, it was hard to walk out knowing I will probably not work with them all together again. However, these ladies have been so supportive of my decision to travel and begin a new chapter.
One of my friends was celebrating her birthday all weekend meaning lots of fun events. I had my first experience at Inman Park and was so sad that I hadn’t been there before. We ate at a delicious Korean restaurant with great music. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. After cooking and enjoying our food we ventured to our next destination. We went to a bar down the street and I enjoyed a scrumptious amaretto sour. I ran into some friends I hadn’t seen in about a month. I also ran into some of my brothers friends from when we lived in Spain about 15 years ago. Confirms how small the world and military world is. It made me even more excited to get to Spain in a couple of weeks!
Saturday was about final, FINAL purging. I had a yard sale, that my friend Nicki came to help with. Only a few people showed up but It was better than none and gave me a little extra spending money. Everything else went to Goodwill straight away. I wanted to take some time for myself and decided to take a break by the pool. BOYYYY it was so hot. I didn’t last by the pool for too long. The rest of the day I spent chilling at Starbucks and straightening up around the apartment. I am so excited to be moving!
As it was Memorial Day weekend I spent Sunday at a pool BBQ to continue celebrating my friends birthday! She can cook her butt off and did just that on the grill, making burgers, chicken, ribs, and kebabs. It was all so delicious! If you can’t tell already, I love food. We played a game of Taboo which was fun and intense, to say the least.
I am now down to 2.5 days before I officially start on my big adventure, moving to a new place. Excited doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel! This has been an overwhelming couple of weeks but it has been worth it! Check out where I am heading!
