A Jasmine Guillory Book Review “While We Were Dating”
The Jasmine Guillory “The Wedding Date” series
Jasmine, Jasmine, Jasmine… I have been reading Jasmine Guillory books for a few years now. I first saw “The Proposal” at a local target back in 2018. Eventually, I ended up getting the kindle version of this book and read through it in a matter of days, I was hooked. Once I finished it, I realized this was a sequel and I had to read the first book! (And the rest of the Jasmine Guillory Series!) As you can guess I loved that one as well. I love how Jasmine writes and how she carries character’s through to the next books. Although she does this, it is not completely necessary to read the previous books first. BUT I suggest you do because they are all fantastic! This post is going to be a quick review of her latest and last book for the “The Wedding Date” series.
“While We Were Dating”
“While We Were Dating” is the last book in her series and she did not disappoint. The book brings back Ben who was a minor character in “The Wedding Party” as one of the main characters, Theo’s, Brother. And introduces us to Anna. Anna is an actress and Ben works for an ad agency, they end up working together and hit it off from the beginning. As Ben takes lead on managing the ad campaign starring Anna they innocently flirt until Anna has a family emergency and needs help. Ben is there and this spirals into a fun fling between the two. They know nothing can come of it as they are working together… but they won’t be working together forever! Behind the scenes, it seems as though the main characters might be falling in love with each other but neither know how to express this.
Ben seeks out the wisdom of his brother, Theo, and girlfriend Maddie, multiple times throughout the book. I love that Jasmine brought back these 2 characters, and I think anyone who has read her previous books will love this as well. At the end of the book, she even surprised me by bringing back Nik from “The Proposal”. “The Proposal” is still my favorite in the series and having Nik reappear makes me want to go back and reread it. But “While We Were Dating” is definitely a close second favorite! When purchasing this book, I ordered the signed copy since she is my favorite author. I am so glad I did, it is a book I will treasure! It came with a bookmark, with a quote from E! Online, saying “Much like a crisp glass of rose’ on a summer evening” and I couldn’t agree more!
The Jasmine Guillory Series comes to an end… like all good things
So in closing, this is a predictable love story but with lots of twists and turns that keep you wanting more! Each character, even the minor ones, are fun and necessary, adding a little extra to the story that you didn’t know was needed! Jasmine Guillory touches on so many relevant subjects in the world and life in general, I love this about her writing. If you enjoy romance books, you will not be disappointed by this one! And If I was you, I would rush out and buy the whole Jasmine Guillory Series! You can order by clicking here or here!
