Autumn!

My favorite season of the year, pumpkin spice, crispy leaves, football, and a chill in the air! The perfect time for an updated Autumn mommy morning routine! Living in the south, it may take a little bit to feel that chill but itโ€™s coming! This is the time of year I really start to miss living in Alaska. They already have had snow where we lived and honestly, I wouldnโ€™t mind that. One thing about me, I love the snow!!!

With all of this, I thought I would share an updated mommy morning routine! Quite a bit has changed in the past couple of months since my last morning routine. The biggest change is that Moose is now daytime potty trained. He still wears a cloth diaper for naps and nighttime but he is dry about 75% of the time! So let’s jump into my new Autumn mommy morning routine!

Autumn Mommy Morning Routine!

6:45- 7:00 am- I wake up somewhere between these times and before Moose wakes up. Soon we will be working on nighttime potty training. This means I will need to get him out of bed as soon as he wakes to put him on the potty to avoid accidents! I want my body to be used to this wake-up time so it is not a shock in a month or two.

7:00 am- I make my coffee because I need coffee to start my day. Melvin and I have started โ€œintermittent fastingโ€ but I need sugar and milk so I am technically breaking the rules with this. Usually I down a cup of water and take my vitamins and then let my coffee cool down. I also start getting Mooseโ€™s breakfast ready at this time.

Getting Ready!

Lets jump into my Autumn Mommy Morning Routine…

7:10 am- I’ll do a short yoga or stretch Youtube video to loosen my body and get me ready for the day. I enjoy this because I feel like if I donโ€™t do any other exercise all day and least I stretched. My favorites to follow are Arriana Elizabeth (a friend from college!) from Bright and Salted Yoga, Madfit, and SarahBethYoga. It depends on my mood for which I will choose but I have a morning yoga/stretch playlist on youtube to help me get to the videos quickly. All of the videos in this playlist are 5-10 minutes.ย

7:20 am- I get dressed, do my hair, and enjoy my coffee. Typically get my outfit ready the night before so I donโ€™t have to think about it in the morning! I also make my bed because it is another accomplishment if I do nothing else all day. And I am that person who likes getting into a nicely made bed each night!

The fun begins!

7:30 am- This is around the time that Moose wakes up. And when my Autumn mommy morning routine gets fun!ย  I have also changed how I get Moose ready for the day, in that I try to give him more freedom with getting ready. I will go into his room and greet him then let him tell me when he is ready to get up. We usually play hide and seek for a few minutes then he’s ready to get up! I give him 2 choices for shirts and pants than take him to the potty.

7:45 am- Moose will eat his breakfast and I will talk to him and scroll through my texts, and social media for a few minutes. I have set the goal for myself, no tv or phone time before 10 but I start at 8 am. This gives me time to check in with any friends or family I may have plans with, while Moose is busy with breakfast.

8:00 am- Moose will play while I do our couple of dishes. The rest of the day just depends on what we have planned. We try to get out of the house every day and mornings are best since it isnโ€™t too hot yet! We’ll go for walks to the park or beach. There is a little ninja gym near us that he loves, so on rainy days, we try to make it there or we go to the library!

Chores and Lunch!

10:00 am- If we are home, this is the time I will put on the TV for โ€œmommy’s newsโ€ as Moose calls it. Which is usually my favorite morning show. Do I really watch it? Not reallyโ€ฆ Usually, I am still playing with Moose or doing house chores! Moose loves to help with all of our house chores and I am letting him. He will help load and unload the washer and drier. I allow him to unload his eating utensils and cups from the dishwasher because they go into a drawer that he can reach. And his favorite chores are vacuuming and dusting. Because he likes to help, house chores take a little bit longer now but I donโ€™t mind! Of course, during this time Moose also will use the potty.

11:00 am- I will start making his lunch, during this time I let him play independently, but sometimes he just wants to be with me. I will let him help or watch depending on what I am making, or I will go ahead and turn on one of his favorite shows, usually โ€œWord Partyโ€, โ€œDinosaur Trainโ€ or โ€œMolly in Denaliโ€. This is also when I have my first meal or snack of the day.

Winding Down in my Autumn Mommy Routine

After this Moose will usually potty again and then go down for his nap around 12:30 pm. His naps are getting shorter so I am having to plan what I do each day. Two days a week I have โ€œmeโ€ time and watch tv or read and the other three days I get blogging work done. My latest favorite has been “Lularich” on Amazon prime video, you should definitely watch it! If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can get a free trial by clicking here! When working on my blog I keep track of things by using my favorite planner, you can click here to find it!

I am so glad the weather is cooling down and we are spending more time outside. Moose loves being outside and it puts him in such a good mood!

So this is my Autumn mommy morning routine! Autumn is my favorite time of year and I am so glad it is finally here! My routine has always changed with the times of year but now even more so with an ever-changing and growing toddler! Does your morning routine change from season to season?
