Leaves are falling, temperatures are dropping, and Halloween has come and gone! Time to check off a few things on our Family Fall Bucket List! Have you created a family bucket list? Click here to check out ours! It was a perfect fall Wednesday to have some fun checking off a few items, so we made the most of the day! Here is how our fun family fall day went!

Starting at $0.99

Pumpkin Decorating

We started with decorating our small pumpkins after breakfast. Moose was super excited to color/paint his pumpkin. However, he is hit or miss with art, sometimes he wants to do it for 30 minutes other times he is over it after 2. Today was the latter, he was bored after about 5 minutes so we just got ready for the rest of our day.

A Chilly, Fall Walk

Once we were dressed and ready, we headed out for a short, turned long walk to our local grocery store. It is about a .5 mile walk from our house and the temperature outside was amazing. I decided to let Moose walk, thinking he would get tired about halfway. But he surprised me and walked all the way there while I pushed his empty stroller. Once we got to the store I coaxed him into his stroller with a snack, to make for an easier trip.

Dinner & Cooking with Moose

The reason for our walk to the grocery store was to get what we needed for dinner and our cooking with moose recipe for the week. Click here to see what we made! Moose made it about halfway back home in the stroller before he wanted to get out and walk. I am totally ok with him wanting to walk and use his energy! We weren’t in a hurry so we just enjoyed the walk, waving at the semi-trucks (one even honked for Moose) and telling the garbage men in our neighborhood thank you! Moose enjoyed this adventure.

Once home, groceries unloaded, fruit soaking clean in the sink, I started getting dinner ready. You can click here to find the crockpot gumbo recipe I used. The only difference I made was adding a yellow pepper. I knew we would be out all afternoon so this crockpot meal was a perfect idea! We then got going on our Cooking With Moose recipe. Once we had finished all this, Moose was getting tired and ready for his nap, but we had a surprise for him!

Melvin quickly got changed and we loaded up in the car letting our crockpot work its magic on dinner and letting our dessert cool in the fridge. We stopped at a local coffee shop to grab drinks and snacks for our hour-long drive to… THE PUMPKIN PATCH, continuing our fun family fall day! Luckily Moose fell asleep 5 minutes into the ride and got a short nap.

I was super excited about the pumpkin patch this year! There was a lot Moose couldn’t do last year because he wasn’t walking yet and was just too small. So this year I knew how much fun he was going to have and couldn’t wait to see him explore!

Holland Farms

We started in the corn pit. Moose wasn’t sure about it at first but quickly decided he liked it and started playing in the corn and digging with the little tractors. He enjoyed riding the tractor swing and zipline. He even tried to figure out how to do the rolling bails but struggled, he’s still a bit small for them. Next, he spotted the go-carts and quickly darted off to them! We all enjoyed riding in them and Moose liked pushing the smaller ones because he wasn’t tall enough to reach the pedals yet.

The Pumpkin Patch

After a tantrum or two, poor kiddo was tired after having a short nap, we made it over to the slides. I was so excited for these because I had seen so many people doing them at their local pumpkin patches. Unfortunately, no one could figure out how to make it all the way to the end of the slide. It was still fun and Moose liked them and kept asking for more. It was a hike up to the top though, so we only did it twice! Finally, we made it to the pumpkin patch and found the perfect pumpkin! Melvin and I searched for the perfect one and then let Moose choose the winner… he chose Melvin’s.

Moose had been the most excited about the train so we headed there next. The train takes you on a ride around the sunflowers, we rode on it twice! The last stop was to see the animals and take our family pictures! We made our way to the animals and attempted to pet them but they didn’t seem to be in the mood! Moose liked copying their animal sounds though! We went to take our pictures by the Holland Farms sign and on the cute bench set up and then got ready to head home.

An End to our Fun Family Fall Day

And that was a wrap. Our perfect fun family fall day was just that, perfect! We got so much done on this busy Wednesday and had so much fun! I am sad we won’t be visiting this same pumpkin patch next year, but we will find a nice one at our new location! Once home we enjoyed our gumbo and it was delicious!! I hope you are making the most of Fall and enjoying time with your family! What is your favorite Fall activity to do, tell me in the comments below!?!?
