Moose Turns Two

2nd birthday

Moose is TWO

I can’t believe we have a two-year-old! I feel like it was just yesterday that the whirlwind of pregnancy, moving across the country, and giving birth happened! It was such a crazy and busy and magical time for us and something I will never forget! From being high risk to having a natural birth, the experience was something I would never want to change. And here I sit now celebrating a 2nd birthday, with a TWO-year-old!

These past 2 years watching Moose grow have been magical! I have loved that I have had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mommy and watch Moose grow and learn right in front of my eyes! Moose is a fun, wild, imaginative, and loving little boy and we are so proud of him!

1st Birthday

Last year we celebrated his first birthday with a small family celebration with a dinosaur theme. It was small, relaxed, and laid back. I know most people go all out for the first birthday but even this small gathering was a bit overwhelming for Moose so I am glad we kept it small. This was also a precaution because of the Pandemic. On his actual birthday, we took Moose to the local zoo and he really enjoyed that! Looking for gift ideas for your littles first birthday? Check out this post here!

2nd Birthday

This year we still kept it to only family but ended up having 2 celebrations to celebrate his 2nd birthday! Melvin’s extended family was in town to celebrate thanksgiving so we figured it would be perfect to have a party with them since they were here. Being a military family, we will be moving soon and who knows when we will be able to have the whole family together to celebrate his birthday again!?

The Theme

We went with the theme Two fast, too curious because that totally describes Moose. He LOVES cars and transportation vehicles, and he is very fast and curious, getting into everything! I made him a cute shirt that said Two fast, too curious to go along with the theme! Click here to get the decorations! We kept it simple with the food. We had Oreos- wagon wheels, donuts- spare tires, Chex mix with M&m’s- nuts & bolts, and popcorn- fuel. Plus, we had small candy and bubbles (Moose’s favorite) for party favors!

Our family chipped in ordering pizza and cooking up some fried fish! We got Moose cake from Nothing Bundt cakes because not only are they delicious, but they also have gluten-free options for Moose!

Moose got absolutely spoiled by the family with some wonderful gifts! It was nice having Melvin’s extended family and my family all together to celebrate and I am so thankful for this time together!

His Actual 2nd Birthday

On Moose’ actual birthday we had planned to have my family over for a small gathering, since my brother wasn’t able to make it to our first party. However, life happened and Moose ended up with a tummy bug. Because of this my parents just came over to give him his gifts and then we celebrated with my brother and niece on the weekend.

Moose helped me make his birthday cake, which wasn’t gluten free so he only had a little piece. Thankfully his cake turned out better than last year taste wise! Moose got treated to more gifts and loved them all! We tried to separate it a bit, so he wasn’t so overwhelmed with presents… and we still have Christmas to come! I still can’t believe he is two and I can’t wait to continue watching him grow and learn! My heart is full! We Love you Moose!
