My Favorite Biographies on Audible
It is no secret that I listen to about half the books I read. This year my goal is to read 24 books, 2 a month. To make that goal more obtainable with a toddler running around I started using Audible more often. I love the program and often find audible exclusives and short reads that are included in the membership. My two favorite book genres are Romance and Biographies. I remember reading Anne Frank as a child and that sparked my love for the Biography Genre. Learning about people and their lives can give you a new perspective and outlook on your own life. Specifically, when it comes to famous people it gives you an inside look at their world and often makes you realize they aren’t much different from you and me! Here are my favorite audible biographies:
/1/ “Becoming” by Michelle Obama
This is one of my all-time favorite books. I believe you can get this book narrated by Michelle Obama herself, or by another narrator. If you are going to get this one I suggest the version narrated by her. Hearing her life story straight from her mouth was inspiring and made you feel like you were just sitting there having coffee with her. She talked about growing up in Chicago, meeting Barack, having her daughters, and her life as a lawyer. She discussed Barack’s presidency, everything it took to get there, and everything she accomplished while living in the White House. This book made me laugh, cry and appreciate the small things in life. It was a long book but I highly recommend this one!

/2/ “It Takes Two” by Jonathan and Drew Scott
Don’t know who Jonathan and Drew are? Turn on HGTV and they are the twins renovating and competing against each other on Property Brothers. I really liked listening to this book as well. The brothers took turns narrating and had friendly banter throughout the book. I learned a lot about them which is the goal of biographies I suppose hahaha! Apparently, their mother had no clue she was carrying twins! How crazy would that be! I loved learning about all the ways they were entrepreneurs growing up and how that made them who they are today! This was a hilarious book and such an easy listen which is why it is one of my favorite audible biographies!

/3/ “We’re Going to Need More Wine” by Gabrielle Union
Well, this one was surprising! I knew that I would like it because I like Gabrielle Union and most of the movies and shows she has been in. From “Bring It On” to “Being Mary Jane” I am a big fan of her’s. But this book made me realize how little we know about famous people! Her life story had me in tears one page, laughing out loud the next, and in shock 2 pages later! This was a “Best Friends Book Club” read and we all loved it, you can check out more on this by clicking here.

/4/ “Where Do I Begin” by Elvis Duran
Elvis Duran is a radio talk show host that I discovered while living in ATL. I had to drive to work super early when I taught there so I would tune into The Elvis Duran show every morning on my way. The talk show is hilarious, if you’ve never listened to it you should check it out! This Bio, narrated by Elvis himself was another good one! I loved learning about his career and how he got started as a young boy. He shared about his love life, which I found to be interesting! Seeing that I didn’t know much about him before reading this it was a very enjoyable book. Elvis Duran is very funny making most of this book pretty light-hearted with a few deep, sadder moments.
