Cooking with Moose: Episode 7, Gluten-Free Cookies

Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today I decided that Moose and I would make some gluten-free chocolate chip cookies. I had been wanting some chocolate chip cookies lately but we’ve been trying to not consume as much sugar. I decided I would try my favorite recipe with a few tweaks. You can find that recipe here! With the tweaks, the cookies did not turn out terrible but they also were not the greatest. Moose LOVED them! Here is how Moose and I made them and everything you will need!

Starting at  $0.99

You will need:

-flour or gluten-free flour
-baking soda
-salt
-brown sugar
-granulated white sugar
-vanilla extract
-one egg
-1/2 cup of softened butter
-chocolate chips
-your tiny helper

What we used:

-Everything above
-gluten-free flour
-raisins
-sunflower seeds
-pumpkin pie seasoning
-cinnamon sugar
-oatmeal
-my tiny helper
-helper stool

I set the oven to preheat at 350 degrees. Then we made the recipe according to the original. We just replaced the flour with 1 ¼ cups of gluten-free flour and ¼ cup of oatmeal. I also halved the amount of sugar since we are trying to lower our sugar intake. Moose added chocolate chips, raisins, and sunflower seeds to our mix as well. Since it is fall I sprinkled a little pumpkin pie seasoning and cinnamon sugar on the top of some of the cookies!

Now, this may surprise you, NOT,🤣 but I am no baker! I kind of just wing it and hope for the best. Like I said above though, the cookies didn’t turn out horrible and Moose has been asking for them everyday! So, they will all get eaten! They have a grainy texture and I think that is due to the gluten- free flour. Moose doesn’t typically react badly to cookies so I think next time we will go back to normal flour. Hopefully, we will find out soon what his intolerance really is as I don’t actually think it is gluten.
