Cooking with Moose, Again: Fruit rollups

cooking with moose

Welcome Back

Wow it has been over a year since Moose and I have done a “Cooking with Moose” post. We have of course been still cooking together, but I just haven’t been adding anything here. I decided it is time to bring this back! Moose loves joining me in the kitchen and now we are having fun creating food for his little sister and more elaborate things for him since he is older! Keep reading to see how we create our fruit rollups!

This week we will be sharing a fun and super easy snack. I showed Moose some snacks on Pinterest and let him choose an easy snack to make. I can not find the original post but, we adapted ours a little bit.

Fruit Rollups

What you will need to make fruit rollups:

Ingredients-

Bread
Cream Cheese
Fruit
-we used blueberries and strawberries
Egg
Powdered sugar
Melted Butter

Supplies-

Rolling pin
Knife
Pan
Blender or Food Processor

Directions for fruit rollups-

Use a rolling pin to flatten your bread. We did 3 slices of bread. Place your fruit and cream cheese to your blender. You can add more to make it the consistency you like. We did about 5 blueberries, 1 strawberry and a spoonful of cream cheese. Once it is blended, scoop it into a baggie and cut a small corner off. Squeeze out the mixture onto your bread and roll it up.

Melt the butter in the pan. While it is melting roll your rollups in the egg. Add these to the melted butter and cook for a few minutes on each side. Now add the powdered sugar. I left it off for Coyotes roll up so there wasn’t any extra sugar. We really enjoyed these but will use dairy free cream cheese next time!
