How to Choose the Perfect Book in 5 Steps
How to Choose the Perfect Book
I love buying new books, it’s my #1 guilty pleasure! I have a Never-ending TBR because I buy books so often, but that’s ok. Every couple of months I try to put myself on book bans and then when it is over I splurge on 3 or 4 more books, so they don’t really work out😂 ! However, when I do buy a book I always make sure I follow these steps! Here is how to choose the perfect book.
/1/ Don’t judge a book by its cover… right? OR DO!
Well, I almost always do! Sorry, not sorry! I pick up books based on if I like the cover and go from there. Now there are some cases where I will pick up a book that is recommended that I don’t really vibe with and it will be a great book. So sometimes the saying rings true!
/2/ Read the synopsis
For most books, this is located on the back of the book. But for some, usually hardcovers this is located on the inside front flap of the book. This is the most important step because you can usually tell by reading this if you are going to like it!
/3/ Do your research
Go to Google or Bookstagram or Booktok or Goodreads or Amazon. All of these places will provide you with reviews. Just search the name of the book and you should find some good reviews. This is also important because people give honest reviews on their own platforms. A big part of my blog is giving reviews and I also do this on my Instagram account. I am always honest, not mean, just truthful about what I have read.

/4/ Decide how to get the book
Once you have determined that you want to buy the book you need to decide how you want it. Is it a book you want to buy or is it one you would prefer to borrow from the library? Do you want a physical copy or are you ok with a kindle version? Do you want to actually read it or do you want to listen to it?
I honestly use all these ways to get books! It’s how I can read so much! I am usually listening to a book and reading a different one at the same time. Therefore, able to knock out 2 books at the same time. I also don’t always want to spend my money on a book. If this is the case, I will check my local library and second-hand book shops. Another trick, if you have audible, they have free books for you to download and listen to, and kindle does as well! These are perks to having these 2 reading platforms.
/5/ Read the book!
