2021 End of Year Wrap Up
Hey All!
I took a little over a week off to spend time with and focus on my family over the holidays! I am back and ready to share so much fun content with you this year! But first, I will share my 2021 wrap up with you all!
2021 End of Year Wrap up
I spent Christmas Day with my family and really enjoyed the time together.
But lets rewind for a minute. On Christmas Eve we started the Christmas box, or in our case bag, tradition. We gave Moose a bag with new pjs, a movie, his favorite snack, and a book. These are all items to use on Christmas Eve. After he opened it we got him ready for bed in his new pjs, enjoyed the movie with a snack and then Melvin read him his book before bed! It was a lovely little tradition that we enjoyed!
Now on to Christmas Day…
Moose woke up around 8, he’s been sleeping in lately and I’m enjoying every bit of it! When he woke up Melvin and I tag teamed. He got Moose out of bed while I put out all of our presents. I didn’t want to put them out the night before because I know my cats would have gotten into them 🤣.
Before opening presents, we looked at Santa’s cookies and the mess the reindeer made (Moose refuses to call them reindeer instead calling them Moose 🤣). We had sat out cookies and milk for Santa and celery for the reindeer the night before. (check out this post to see the yummy cookies we made!) In the morning I made a trail in the kitchen with the celery leaves and Moose was in awe of it! Now over a week later, he mentions how the “moose made a mess”. Almost every morning at breakfast he will talk about the moose, it is so adorable and I love seeing his little brain and memory at work!
Gift time!
Once we finished with breakfast we opened our presents and stockings. This year was so much different with Moose because he is now comprehending so much more! He loved opening up all of his presents and said “WOOOAHHHH” to all of them as he discovered what they were! It was so heartwarming to see Christmas through his eyes! He was especially excited about his night light, parking garage and keyboard. We finished in the house and then ventured outside for his big gift, a ride in car. We then spent about an hour letting him play in his car, taking it over to show Nanny and Grampy!

Christmas dinner
Later in the day, we went over to my parent’s house to celebrate Christmas with them, my brother and Niece. It was so nice to be able to spend the holidays with them all opening more presents, eating a delicious dinner, and just relaxing together!
Boxing Day Tradition
Before the pandemic, whenever we were all together for the holidays it has been a tradition for us to go to the movies on Boxing Day. This was the first year we have done it since we’ve had Moose, we went to see Sing 2. I was curious to see how Moose would handle the movie theater and let me tell you, he LOVED it! He did great, even telling us when he needed to potty! He was dancing to all the songs and mesmerized by the movie, and he enjoyed a kids snack pack all to himself!. Sing 2 was definitely a good pick for his first movie theater experience! After the movie, we all went to get coffee and do a little bit of shopping before we all headed to our separate homes!
I am so thankful that we are all currently living close and able to take advantage of family time at the holidays like this!
New Years
The boys and I decided to take a quick getaway to Biloxi just to get away for a day and night and explore. I will be doing a blog on this in the upcoming weeks, just know it was a fantastic disaster 😁🤣!
To celebrate New Years and to wrap up 2021, we had my family come over to ring it in! I picked up some sparklers, new years headbands, and fun noisemakers. Moose did not appreciate the noisemakers and proceeded to tell us “it’s scary, it’s scary” every time someone used one! We enjoyed a yummy appetizer-style spread of meatballs, a charcuterie board, and fruit. Plus my parents made sausage rolls, scotch eggs, black-eyed peas, and chicken wings. And my brother came with a pie (that we didn’t end up making) and some drinks! It was a delicious spread!
2021 Wrap Up
We spent the evening chatting, eating, playing games and watching the New Years’ count down on tv. Moose managed to stay up and I was pretty surprised! We went outside with our sparklers and poppers right before Midnight to celebrate! I was hoping to see some fireworks but it was super foggy and we could only hear a few in the distance!
This holiday season was one I am so grateful for! From spending Thanksgiving and Moose’s birthday with Melvin’s side of the family to spending Christmas and New Year with mine! We are so lucky and thankful for the memories we have created and the time spent together! What fun memories did you make this year? Share below!
From my family to yours, we wish you a happy, healthy and safe New Year!
