I Made it! Arriving in England!

Oxford, Headington, England

I finally made it home to England, early Friday morning. Arriving, my wonderful Aunt and Cousin came to pick me up from the airport. Before leaving Atlanta I was able to have one last lunch with my coworkers and then they bid me farewell at the airport. The flight wasn’t too bad but, I had a middle seat and the food was… gross to put it nicely. However, I made it to England and that is all that matters to me!

Arriving- Jet lag

My Family dropped me off at my mums best friends house where I will be staying for my time in England! Once arriving, I wanted to try to stay awake to beat the jet lag. So I walked to the local shops and picked up one of my favorite English foods, a Cornish pasty and then went for a run. I couldn’t beat the tiredness and fell asleep for a few hours. I was extremely tired from all the events leading up to this trip and lack of sleep on the flight.

The weekend was spent with my family friends. Saturday we did a bit of shopping. I was feeling really under the weather and went to sleep around 5pm… I got a good, much-needed 14 hours of sleep. On Sunday we went for a long walk up the shot over. It was beautiful and I loved the view. Nothing beats the British countryside! I decided I wanted to embrace the American in me and walked into the town of Headington for some Starbucks. I walked around the small town a bit then headed back home.

I made plans for the rest of the week. These were to go down into Oxford and get re-acquainted with my home town, try to find a gym where I could work out for the next month and try to meet up with my family. Check out how my time was spent in England by clicking here and here!
