Beluga Point

We decided we wanted to take a quick adventure. So Beluga point it was. Beluga point is an area off the Alaska highway 1, where you are supposed to be able to see Beluga Whales. However, after some reading I found out that sighting a Beluga here has become less and less common. It was still a fun adventure. A short drive from Anchorage and we made it to a couple big rocks in the water of Turnagain Arm, known as beluga point.

We attempted to climb the rocks (Melvin more than me) but we were not prepared for this. Although we did not see any Whales we had fun trying to climb the rocks and walking along the railroad, next to rocks.

We took some pictures and explored. If you are looking for a mini trip, maybe a picnic, this would be a great adventure. The mountain and ocean view is beautiful. After about an hour of exploring we headed back to Anchorage to run some errands. So once again this is the perfect trip for when you want to do something quick and adventurous!
Be sure to check it out if you are in Anchorage and HEY you might see a beluga whale!
