Best Family Brunch Locations in San Antonio, TX

coffee and flowers in coffee shop

I don’t know about you but as a family we like to go out and explore on the weekends! This often involves eating and an activity for my toddler to keep us all happy and entertained! Here in San Antonio, there is A LOT to do, but it is also very spread out meaning driving about 20 mins to different places in some cases. So, I put together a few places where you can enjoy a light brunch or coffee and have something for the kiddos to do all in the same location.
Here are the best family friendly brunch places in San Antonio… so far😁

Best Family Friendly Brunch places in San Antonio

The Rim at La Cantera-

This is a shopping and restaurant area located in the northern side of San Antonio. This makes the list of best family friendly brunch places in San Antonio because of the great food options!

My favorite brunch (or anytime of day, lets be real) place is to Kaffeinated Crepes and Coffee. I have now been multiple times. I’m a creature of habit and always get the Mixed Fruit Crepe. It comes covered in Belgium Chocolate, with strawberries, blueberries and banana inside. This has actually been a strong craving of mine, despite being 30 mins away! The second time we went was for mother’s day and Melvin got the Chicken Alfredo Crepe, which was also yummy. I have taken my parents and my dad enjoyed the Turkish coffee, and said it was VERY strong!

Located right across from Kaffeinated Crepes is a small green area with fun stained-glass  benches. This is what makes this area family friendly. Moose loves running in the green patch, climbing on and looking through the stained-glass benches! And he would do it for hours if I let him!

We also like Bakery Lorraine which is a French bakery located about a 5 minute walk from Kaffeinated Crepes. Here we have tried the quiche, fruit tart and pop tart. All of which was good but a bit expensive.

We would like to try Bowl & Barrel which looks like a fun date night place, Southerleigh Haute South which is a brunch place that always smells fantastic, and Torchys which I have heard has great tacos! There are also some cute murals that make for great picture opportunities!

The Pearl-

We ventured here when my parents came to visit because it seemed to be the number one recommended place for us to go! I feel like almost everyone I have met since being here has told me to go to the pearl!

The Pearl makes my list for best family friendly brunch places in San Antonio for many reasons. They have lots of food options, it is pedestrianized, and they have a green area with splash pad for the kids! On the weekends they have markets and although it is small, we still managed to spend about 3 hours there.
Moose did not play in the splash pad here, wasn’t up for it that day, but he did enjoy running through the green area.
We went to the Food Hall, and all tried a different vendor. Of the six vendors located inside the Food Hall we tried five. Melvin got Ramen from Tenko Ramen, it was fantastic, and I have been craving it! He also got a drink from Park Bar and enjoyed it. My Dad got pizza from Wonderslice and said it was yummy. My mum and I both tried Kineapple, she got the Sunny Jam Sandwich and all I kept hearing was “hmmm, yummm, yummmm”, and I got an Acai bowl. I also got breakfast tacos from Chilaquiles to share with Moose. I liked the bacon, egg and cheese taco the best!

This area was fun and is also located on the river walk if you wanted to enjoy a walk along the water. While here we also perused the local bookstore and got coffee at Local Coffee Founders. I had the best green tea matcha here and I will be going back!

(located close by is the Doseum which is also fun for kiddos)

The Most Family Friendly Brunch area

Yanaguana Gardens Hemisfair Park-

Last but not least on our list of best family friendly brunch places in San Antonio is the Hemisphere. I didn’t know what to expect here, but was told there was a splash pad, which Moose typically loves. We decided to head here and get a coffee at Commonwealth Coffeehouse & Bakery. We tried their coffee, a chocolate croissant and quiche.

After a light snack we let Moose run around in the splash pad but he said it was “too Cold”, so we changed him and explored the park. We spent about 2.5 hours here and Moose LOVED the park. There were outside games to play and the playground was a climbing child’s dream! Yanaguana Gardens has a couple butterfly gardens, trees and a unique water feature.

(located close to the Alamodome, River walk and a short drive from the Japanese Tea Gardens)
