A day in Annapolis, Maryland
Annapolis, Maryland
We took our first family vacation over 4th of July, to visit our friends, Mark Anthony and Avery in Maryland. I am hoping our family will get stationed there soon because we have so many friends and family there. I have never been more excited to explore. We arrived late at night, found our car and headed to our friend’s house to settle in. On the 4th, Avery suggested we go to Annapolis, the capital of Maryland. Annapolis has a market on the first Sunday of each month that they had been wanting to check out, so we decided to go!
The Market
Once we got to Annapolis, we set out to find a snack. Stumbling quickly upon a cute café called Curate. I enjoyed a hot matcha latte and a delicious strawberry oat bar. We got Moose a gluten free orange muffin in which he thoroughly enjoyed. Our friends also got some yummy treats and drinks. They got a thyme lemonade, iced matcha latte, and a cheddar and chive scone.
Venturing down to the market we browsed through the streets and vendors. All of us enjoyed looking at the different local vendors and art. We ended up purchasing some reusable paper towels that we can’t wait to use. There were a lot of street musicians, playing all sorts of music. We took a break and let Moose play at a park and listen to some of the street musicians. We were carrying Moose in the carrier, so it was nice to get a little break and let him get out some energy.
Iron Rooster, Annapolis, Maryland
After perusing the market, we wanted to get something to eat. We decided on Iron Rooster, known for their homemade pop tarts. On our walk to Iron Rooster, we passed a bubble tea shop and of course we had to get some! Mark Anthony is addicted to bubble tea just as much as I am!!
Iron Rooster
The restaurant is located down near the water in Annapolis, Maryland, it is absolutely stunning, and I hope to go back again! My husband and I enjoyed a strawberry cheesecake pot tart at Iron Rooster, it was everything I expected, and more! After heading down the street, I spotted a Starbucks, so we picked up a Maryland cup to add to my collection. We ran into a group of people doing Zumba in the middle of the street, Avery and I (and Moose) joined in for a couple of songs.
We headed home to took naps before going out to meet with some of our friends from Alaska who also live in Maryland. Eight of us met up for Hot Pot. This was our first experience with Hot Pot and we really enjoyed the experience and food. This restaurant was located in a hub with a few other Asian restaurants. It was a plus that there was bubble tea in the same hub! I ended up getting a passionfruit tea from Gong Cha. It was really nice to catch up and share some stories from our time in Alaska.
As we headed out Moose had a bad blow out. There was no changing table in the hub, so I had to change him in the back of our car! That was a surprise I did not enjoy, but, mom life. Poor Moose has a sensitive stomach so I also expected that he might have a blow out or two on our trip and was prepared!
Up Next…
Next on our trip we planned to explore DC and Georgetown. I hope you will come back to see how these excursions went!
