Busiest Weekend ever!
While in Europe I have spent most of my time traveling and not a lot of time with my family. For my last weekend I was able to spend a LOT of time with family and it was much needed! From a night out, to running a 5k, check out how I spent my last weekend here!
It all started on Friday with a night out. Helen, Nisha, a few other friends and I went to out for tapas and drinks. First stop was at a place called Kaz Bar. We enjoyed tortilla, shrimp, humus and other tapas, all of which were very tasty. I had Tinto Naranja for my drink, not as good as Spain but it was still good.
After a couple of drinks each we went to the next bar called Mad Hatters. And yes, you guessed it, it is an Alice in Wonderland themed bar. I had been here a few years ago and remembered them having a really good Amaretto Sour, my drink of choice on a night out. I especially like them here because they make them the correct way, with egg whites. After this we were all tired and ready to go home. Radom Fact: Alice in Wonderland was said to have been created and based around people in Oxford.
Saturday morning I went into Oxford to return a few things and pick up a few things to take home, back to America. The weather was wonderful, which was perfect for the day ahead. My cousin came to pick me up and we headed to get my other cousin. My cousins are really into football, soccer, and had wanted me to get the experience here in England. We went to watch the friendly match, Oxford United vs. Oxford City and our grandparents also came along. It was a great experience and I really enjoyed the day at the football pitch. After the Game, Oxford United won, we went for a pub lunch at one of the most beautiful pubs in Oxford. We had a lovely lunch and enjoyed catching up.
Sunday was full of lots of excitement too! Before I came to England my cousin and I decided to sign up for a 5k. We signed up for the race for life 5k in Oxford. We took the bus into town, it was very hot, hotter than we expected and we were sweating before we even started to run. This was a very meaningful 5k run, running for cancer research and it made me feel good that I was bringing awareness. Once we finished we received medals and bottles of water. This was not my best nor my worst time for a 5k, and considering I have not worked out I felt like I did pretty good. My cousin and I made our way to the bus to head back home. My day was not over, I was heading back to London. I had seen that my favorite fitness youtubers were going to be at a pop up shop in London. The pop shop was for athletic gear by GymShark. I had been wanting some of their sports wear and figured why not make the trip back to London to meet my fitness inspiration and start my Gymshark collection. I made friends with a few people in line and we shared who our favorite gymshark athletes were as we waited. Because it was only a 2 day pop-up shop there was a line. It took us about 40 minutes before we were in but it was well worth it. I met 2 of my favorite gymshark athletes, shared conversations about working out and took pictures. This was the perfect way to end my weekend. I had a jam-packed and fun last weekend here in England and thoroughly enjoyed it! Be sure to check out my posts from my time traveling in Europe, here and here.
